Organize Email Tip 1
A major recommendation, one that I wish I had when I got
started using the Internet, is that when you subscribe to
receiving information from various websites, that you use
an alternative email address to the one you use for
personal friends and contacts. This helps to reduce spam
and general overwhelm.
Organize Email Tip 2
Then create a mail filter that sends every email you get
to that email address into a specific 'subscriptions' or
'registrations' folder in your email program. That way
you'll keep your personal stuff and your registrations
stuff separate.
Organize Email Tip 3
Allow emails to accumulate in that subscriptions mailbox
without causing you stress. You can catch up with them
whenever you want. If any really do not interest you
then unsubscribe.
For topics that are more important to you, stick to
reading them regularly. Add a different email filter to
capture these ones you are more interested in.
Organize Tips for Download Files
Downloads Organize Tip 1
I recommend creating a folder on your computer called
Downloads and then moving every single download file into
that one folder. Then you'll at least know where
everything is.
Downloads Organize Tip 2
I keep mine in the My Documents folder. Have your download
software save new downloads into your one central downloads
folder. You'll easily be able to get to all new and old
downloads without losing track or hunting too much for
things.
Downloads Organize Tip 3
Then create folders within that folder. I have folders
in my Downloads folder called 'Cool stuff', 'Games'
'Internet Marketing', 'Main', 'Net stuff', 'Other',
'Graphic Design', 'Intelligence', 'Media', 'Network
Marketing', 'System stuff'.
Of course I do not expect yours to be exactly the same as
mine but it's a good starting place to give you ideas.
Drag and drop your downloads into those folders.
Categorizing them like this will give a lot of perspective
on everything you download from the net.
